Lisa Young’s fiction has appeared in Rampike Magazine, Dead Gender, Dragnet Magazine, and the Maple Tree Literary Supplement. Her first poetry collection, When the Earth, was published by Quattro Books in 2011. LyricalMyrical Press published her poetry chapbook, This Cabin, in 2013. She is a former fiction editor and senior poetry editor for Existere: Journal of Arts and Literature, and is the founding editor of Juniper, an online poetry journal. Lisa also teaches at the Wychwood Writers Workshop.
She was co-organizer of the Art Bar Poetry Reading Series in 2016. Active in the writing community, she attends poetry retreats, literary readings and workshops throughout the year and is a member of the Seven O’Clock Poets.
From 2011 to 2013, she co-hosted the WordStage Reading Series for the arts organization, the Association for Art and Social Change.
Her poetry has featured in several publications including, Verse-Virtual, The Quilliad, Synaeresis, Misunderstandings Magazine, Jones Av., Quills Canadian Poetry Magazine, Northern Cardinal Review, Open Book Toronto, The Toronto Quarterly, and the anthologies, The Loyalty of Breath, and “L _ _ _”: A Poetic Study of Relationships.
Lisa works as a freelance writer and editor in Toronto.
